The Leadership Development Program is designed to provide the Associate with a solid knowledge of all functional areas of C&F Finance Company. The Associate will complete rotations through the Collections, Risk/Operations, Loan Processing, Underwriting and Sales divisions of the company. This rotational process helps associates develop knowledge of the functional areas of the company and develop a broad range of skills needed in the auto finance business. This program will give the Associate experience in all major areas of the company and will familiarize them with the company’s business philosophies, policies, procedures, vision and culture.
This company specific training will prepare the Associate for a successful career at C&F Finance Company. The Associate will complete each assigned job function while representing C&F Finance Company in a professional and positive manner and ensuring that all relative laws and regulations are complied with in this process.
The Associate will rotate through the following departments: Collections, Operations (Risk/Customer Service/Accounting), Loan Processing and Underwriting. Rotation length will be based on Associate performance and the company’s needs in the various departments.

Skills and qualities required:
No experience required. Prior experience in banking or financial services is valuable. Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point) preferred. Proficient computer skills and typing skills.
Strong academics and technical skills should be accompanied by proficiencies in critical thinking, leadership, business acumen, and relationship building. Candidates must be able to work independently and on teams, with effective time management and business writing skills.
The Associate must be able to communicate effectively with people at all levels. They must be an excellent listener. Able to work independently. Able to understand the auto loan industry processes and regulations. Able to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment with deadlines and performance standards. Able to present accurate mathematical calculations. Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality. Ability to master navigating through companies’ computer operating applications.
Recent college graduate with a B.S. or B.A. in Business preferred
The individual’s success will be measured based on their ability to successfully complete and understand each functional area of C&F Finance Company. Other measures of success include: teamwork, the willingness and ability to adapt to varying work responsibilities, leadership qualities and interpersonal skills with employees, and customers.
The Management Associate will be given feedback on a monthly basis by the Manager that they are reporting to at that time.
Employee may experience the following physical demands for extended periods of time: view computer monitor, keyboarding, talking on the phone, sitting, filing motion fingers/hands/wrists, lifting boxes no heavier than 30 pounds and standing/walking. The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. The Management Associate may be required to sit for long periods of time while on the phone with the customers throughout the day.
